My left handlebar switches seem to be failing.
Indicators, hazards and horn don't work, full beam does.
Is this a known problem?

It's intermittent - when I took it apart it worked momentarily so that suggest not the relay, and the right hand indicator works fine.
I can't see any rubbing or fraying to the cables.
Switches gone bad? A replacement second hand unit is £105 so any suggestions would be appreciated.

If it turns out you need a replacement, have a search on Ebay also look up other models of the same period that may have used the same parts, I found this out when looking for one for my 1100GS. It seems that the less fashionable BMW's parts sell for a lot less cash....

That’s an excellent idea.

And there it is. Corroded broken connection at the plug end where a previous repair had been done. Quick solder and we are back up and running. That's my second corroded wire this year, I fear that may be an unavoidable consequence of a 17 year old bike kept outside and ridden in all weathers.
Thanks all.
