Left throttle body r1150gs thin electrical cable what is it?

When working on the bike yesterday I noticed the crimped ring connector was not properly made and the very thin wire was floating about at the bared portion. So I remade the connection with a new ring crimped connector and then thought what does this do or connect to?

Thanks Neildd, do you know of any benefit by making the connection more stable or drawback if it wasnt connecting properly or even at all?

As the throttle bodies are rubber mounted they will not get a good earth so the wire is there to do that.
Crimped wires in correct fitting lugs are a lot better than soldered connections as a solder connection can look good but only the outside of the connection has been soldered. Also the flux can sometimes react with the copper of the wire. It was probably working ok as a few strands missing wont make that much difference. A good idea is to fit heatshrink over the crimped section of the lug to give it some strength and protection.
