The latest edition of Tourenfahrer magazine, has an article on the Chinese made devices, which mirror smart phones. Besides the usual names we see on these pages, they listed a couple of others which are maybe less well known. One caught my eye, which might interest some here, not least as it seems to retail for about EUR 70 ie. well under the price of most other units.

The manually dimmable display can be read perfectly even in full sunlight, the touch function only reaches its limits with thick winter gloves. Navigating with your favourite app is just as smooth as managing phone calls or entertainment programs, even in combination with Bluetooth headsets.

The only disadvantage is due to the design: The data transfer sucks powerfully on the mobile phone battery, so a power bank should be included for day trips. Even better, you can set up a charging station for the phone in a tank bag or handlebar bag.
