Tales from the Engine Room...
It was always difficult to get a full 28" vacuum on the starboard 2-stage Flash Evaporator. Salinity was always an issue. Especially in the South Atlantic, where massive amounts of Kryll made the resulting F/W stink of feesh and reduced the plants capability drastically. Oh, how everyone laughed.....
Well, that's it from 'Tales from The Engine Room' for tonight.
In the next programme I'll let you know how incorrect coupling of the Paxman Y16CJAZ diesel gennies' sump oil supply could lead to flooding the bilges with OMD113 and whether OEP69 gear oil is a good substitute for frying chips in.
Don't forget - open fully and then back half a turn!
