Let's see what all the fuss is about

A mate of mine got told by his dealer that the LC Triple Black GSA was not a model BMW would be making in 2016. That info came from the Head of Business who had been at a motorrad sales meeting in Berlin and specifically asked the question of a BMW official. This was in June 2016 and in July they had a Triple Black GSA sat on the stand at Garmisch :blast

No need to spit...........

Just ride your other bike, it's no hardship, in reality

Not spitting at all, and I am riding my other bikes. With the lack of updates/ information, how long would you wait for?

Or maybe just getting cold feet and looking a way out.....:augie

I'm not getting cold feet. If I wanted a way out, I could have taken it last week, as the dealer has offered to refund my deposit.;)

That's the S. Still no news on the R. Literally, nothing. If KTM can't give a delivery date, or even a reason for the delay by the end of the month, I'll be cancelling my order, and will revisit the R another time.

FFS it's not this months fashion accessory that will be off trend if you wear it a month later

It's a bike that you have decided you'd really like for a number of practical and (I hope) emotional reasons.

You're coming across like a spoilt child that is used to always getting what they want ...........now...........right now.

Maybe it's for the best, a WBM would seem more suited to you :thumb

What are you on about? There are many reasons why I'm getting this bike, and it's the first KTM that's stirred my soul (or whatever faux hippy bollocks you'd normally apply to a bike:dabone) enough to make me part with my money.

Fashion accessory, I don't think so. Have you seen it?:P

My point is that it may be wiser to wait a few months, as KTM are obviously having issues releasing it.

And don't forget about me! There's more than one victim of KTM's crimes against delivery :rob :D

The lack of round wheels for Nutty's new bike means all the lovely bling I have paid for is still sitting on his XR!

If it goes on any longer I'll have to hot foot it to Nutty's with a selection of tools and start dismantling it :D

Toddy I'm working near the main KTM dealer at the moment if you want me to nip in and see if there's a shorter supply route for the bits that are holding up the bling?

If you believe that there are 'issues' with the bike (a la WMB beta testing new models when they bring them out) then yes, cancel the order and wait/get a different bike. I would.

If you're just being impatient, suck it up sucker :rob

I told you you wouldn't like a KTM :D

Thanks John, I think KTM have got a problem with the wheels on the new bike which is holding up Nutty's order. I've already made off with various nice bits from his XR, just a few bits left which the dealer was going to strip, but no problem to wait in reality.

That's what I thought, too much foot stomping at Nutty Towers...............get a grip. Nutster

It's a KTM. They'll be a lot cheaper in October/November.

This is all very disappointing, I was planning to go orange this summer.

I thought I could just walk into Laguna and ride out on 1290T:blast

Had a test ride this morning on a SA S just about to get on it when the screen went blank had to wait 45 mins until they plugged it in and re set it ,not a good start.

Not wanting to rub it in or anything, but have I mentioned recently how brilliant my promptly(ish) delivered SA-S is :D
It has wheels and everything you know :P

The only problem I have with it is not enough time to ride it this week :blast
Be patient Nutty - it will be worth it!!

This is one of the main reasons, tbh. I can wait for the bike, but want to get the bits off the XR, and onto Toddy's.:thumb

I don't think there are issues with the bike, just with production. These things happen.

Once the parts are in Toddy's sweaty mitts, I'll just wait.:D

I spoke to the dealer today, and they are more than willing to help as much as they can, so they may take the XR now, then deliver the 1290 when it arrives. We'll see.

I'm certainly not getting too stressed about it.;)
