Might have to go myself. I lived there as a boy when my Dad was stationed there. Remember being super excited as a five year old and going to work with my dad I used to get to sit in a lightning. He wouldn't let me start it though.

I'm guessing it'll be the final Airshow there as well, since next year it turns into an Army base.

Nothing really inspiring this year I am afraid so I'm out. All air displays in the UK are showing the effects of austerity cuts to the forces but Leuchars in particular is a sad reflection of its glory days.

Remember if you are going by bike there is free on base parking for motorcycles. No need to pre book and hard standing for the bikes.

I was down there this afternoon watching some of them coming in and a few practice sessions. The Lancaster and Spitfire had already arrived and the Austrian Typhoons got there on Thursday too. The Sea fury sounded lovely (I think that has the Merlin Engine).

I can't go tomorrow but would love to as the Saab Viggen is there which is one of the best planes I've ever seen flying (Pity they don't have the Saab Draken too). Gutted no B52 this year as so wanted to see that come in.

I hope that the show moves to Lossiemouth and they get some serious metal in there (F14's and SU27's).
