How long would that take me, fully loaded, two up?

Can I apply Timmys rules? :augie

While Im at it, how long from Uig to Armadale?

Planing a wee trip. Aint the planning great :thumb2

Just over an hour for Lewis... similar or a wee bit more for Skye (more traffic).

Both roughly the same distance...

Armadale to Uig give yourself 1hr 20mins two up taking your time:thumb2

Ferry from Uig to Tarbet 1hr 40mins Tarbet to Stornoweegie 45mins:thumb2

Armadale to SY as per HRH. Leverburgh to SY also 1hr 20 leaving a bit of time and going the most direct westerly route via the sands. If you take the golden road (easterly route) leave yourself two hours. Two different types of scenery. I would take the easterly route by turning first right after luskentyre turnoff and doing the second part of the Golden Road. Give me a bell if you want as i was brought up in Harris. Will pm my number.

Thanks gents:thumb2
Wee trip booked for the beginning of July, CalMac rover ticket only £115, lasts a month.
John, already picked your brain by looking at some of your recommendations on other threads.
SWMBO grew up in Benbeccula, but its been a few years since we were last out there. Looking through Mr Kelly's thread last night, she said there seemed to be more pubs now than she remembered.
Really looking forward to it.

Local booking office Mike, Ill get the details and post them tonight when I get home.

Are you in a rush or could you spend a night somewhere? There are some Ratcliff Trust hostels that are worth a visit, one on West coast in an old renovated black house at Carlaway. Another on east coast down wee winding road, can't remember name but easy to find on net. Or a hotel in Tarbert for a night on the juice. Roghadal used to be a fine pub but the hotel has gone all posh, not the same

And a couple of beaches on the way. And standing stones at Callanish

Stop a bit, enjoy!:oonyack

£62 for the bike and £58 for the two of us, so £120 in total. Valid for one month from the 1st time we use it.
Planned the route and booked it today.
Taking 6 days for the trip Alistair, Kathleen has booked it all, Ardhasaig hotel looking to be the highlight at the end of the week. Cheers Hebby.
GOTC in Ullapool next month so will call in on some family in Skye on the way home. Think Kathleen has a fair bit of "visiting" on the agenda :oonyack

Ahh, that explains it, you mentioned 'Rover' ticket initially, that's why I was so surprised..:thumb

I'll be doing the islands again next year all being well, getting withdrawal symptoms....:(

Have a great trip, see you at GOTC hopefully...:thumb2
