A webbing loop may suffice I am going to experiment with one as I have the same trouble
I seem to remember my last K series LT had a handle fitted as standard which worked quite well

Don't know about you guys but am finding the new GS a bit more difficult to get up on the centre stand (probably getting old will do it) and saw this on a NN add - http://www.nippynormans.com/product...k-r1200gs-lc-r1200-adventure-lc-wun-26200-202. The idea looks pretty basic for such a high price so wondered if any of you have tried these and if so whether they do make any difference.

I have the silver one.
Very pleased with it as now I can get bike on the centre stand more easily. Well worth it IMHO.

It's mostly about technique................... Try holding the handlebar and pillion grab bar, then stand up on the centre stand. You then try to drive your foot that's on the stand into the floor by pulling up and back on the bike.

I got shown by a RT owner, and it's been a breeze ever since.

Good luck.

My 1200 is one of the easiest bikes I've ever had to put on the stand , certainly the easiest of the heavy bikes I've owned. When I had a loan WC it was even easier , and I'm a lightweight!

As Gargy says, it is all about technique.

I agree it's a pig to get on centre stand..
The strap idea is a possibility, saw one on another bike last week & thought to myself 'bloody hell, must be dragging it out of forests & ditches regular..!'
So simple... Lol

I took the handle off my 54 plate GS and fitted it to the LC.
Works a treat.
I damaged my back long time ago, and was aware I need to be a bit careful when lifting any bike onto its centre stand.
That said by those above, good technique is what you need and it pulls over easily even when fully loaded.

My 12GSA was a diddle to put up on the C/Stand. You guys wanna try a 990ADV KTM ........ now there's a challenge!!

Thanks guys.I accept the technique issue and thought I was OK till this bike and lately feel a real strain in the lower back. I wouldn't attempt fully loaded without help. I will try the strap idea. Does anyone have a photo

Cheers
