Hi there can anyone tell me where to get a light bar for aux lights on a 1150GS.
I have seen Migsel mentioned, who/ where are they?
Are there any better ones out there?
Will they fit with full crash bars?

The Migsel lightbar fits beneath the beak so the engine-bars make no difference.
You can contact Michel on [email protected] but if you look around the forum you will see his posts all over the place with a link to his website. Be sure to get the later (curved) lightbar as the early one can catch on the forks leving marks (as some of us can testify) however this is easily sorted and Michel now supplies the Mk11 version anyway.
Personally I have a pair of FF50's mounted on my Wunderlich engine-bars connected to the dipped circuit and a second pair on the light-bar connected to the hi-beam circuit and I find this setup works very well.

Hi Paul

Hi Paul,

used to work in the same building but have moved up the road from you!

I have a Migsel light bar etc. fitted and will be in touch so you can see it

What do you mean by easily sorted ? I also have damage on my forks, and I can't figure out to repair it . Ideas ?
Thx

By easily sorted I mean the repositioning of the light-bar.

I slotted the mounting holes which moved it forward a little and then I ground away the back of the bar to improve the profile.

To cover up the damage to the forks (luckily only one side is damaged) I fitted a ring of black PVC tape (to both sides) and although I would rather not have had to do it in the first place, it looks quite OE.

Yes I'm very sorry about that guys.

It is fixed now with the new curved light bar, but that doesn't fix the scratch you have of course :(

This is old and new:

As posted before, if you have an "old style" light bar, it's quite easy to fix it so it will certainly never damage the fork legs.

Mind you, there have only been two or three cases of a scratch on the forks. It must be some unhappy concurrence of tolerances. With most light bars, nothing has happened.

The possible contact spot is quite small. You can find it if you turn the front fork to full lock. If you take off a few millimeters of metal with a file there, at the bottom of the light bar, you're done.

The approximate location is shown in this pic.

If you take off some metal there, it's fixed and completely invisible, as this part is under the beak.

Sorry about this, it should never have happened. To be on the safe side, please take your light bar off and use your best file for a minute or ten.

Cheers,
Michel
