Can anyone tell me if Givi (or Kappa for that matter) still do a Monokey mounting plate (I think it's two plates) for an 1150GS? I've searched their website (and others) and am more confused than when I started. If so, can you get them over here rather than source them from Italy?
Going back to one top box (Givi 52ltr) and use it for both bikes.

Cheers for any help or pointers.

Steve,
It wasn't the mounting plate but the 2 stiffening brackets that are unique to the 1150.
They stop the ally bracket/ rear end breaking. From memory they pick up on the rear end of the steel subframe

They did 2 versions of the support brackets that the monokey plate sits on. I have the original one in a box somewhere in case I get yet another R1150GS one day. The later version was more substantial but uglier. I think it also raised the topbox up as well. The photo below shows the original version that is not available new anymore.

The second image shows a diagram of the later version which appears to still be available. I ordered this one a few years ago but I sent it back as I didn't like the look and it was very heavy.

If you do decide to get one any UK Givi dealer should be able to order it. Part number is SR694 according to those fitting instructions.

Many thanks everyone for this input. Someone else sent me that 2nd image via e-mail, and yes you're right Mike, it does look heavy and cumbersome (and at a funny angle too).
I did have a Givi 52 litre box years ago but sold it including the base AND a metal plate that fitted to the rear rack below the black plastic mount. I appreciate it would be more reassuring having support mounts as I've seen a broken rear rack (not pretty). The 1st image shows quite a flush and level mount which almost looks OE on the 1150. Wish I could get the dimensions of the plate to get a copy made. Oh well, the search goes on.

Just come across this on fleabay. Any opinions if this might work, although as mentioned above, I'm sure my original Give black plastic mount also had a metal plate beneath it? I'm just trying to find a solution to use 1 Givi top box for both my bikes.

I have a Givi mount (Mk1) for a 1100/1150GS rear rack
I did keep it somewhere and I will try to dig it out tomorrow and give you some dimensions of the metal bracing plate

Here’s my 1100 GS with the Givi E460 box mounted

Thanks mate.
Yes, I realise now that the metal plate was to give some strength to the rear rack. I think sidebars might have given it more strength though but might not have appealed aesthetically.
There is a 2nd-hand Givi E250 mount on fleabay (that looks like the original one) and now I'm wondering if that might work with a manufactured plate? I wonder what the differences are between each version. Bolt holes in different places?

I think the plastic mount is pretty universal with plenty of slotted mounting holes in the honeycomb (under the flat plate£

You are right, it had a metal plate and small metal support arms. I have dug mine out. See the photo. I would not use just that universal plastic mounting plate without any metal support parts.

That's it Mike!!
Shame they don't make these anymore. I have found the 'winged' fixings and screws/bolts with a couple of on-line biking shops along with the plastic mount on fleabay, but it's the plate that is impossible to find. With JohnnyBoxer's offer of the metal plate dimensions. I might just get there.
Thanks again to the all the contributors on here. I'm now a little reassured there is a solution. (y)(y)(y)

Hi Steve, I'm in exactly the same position - did you get to a solution and if so what was it? TIA.

I picked up a monokey mounting kit several years ago from Givi.

It is pretty substantial and makes the case sit up a bit higher.

I did send Steve the tracing of my metal plate giving dimensions and where the holes were
Hey Johnny could i trouble you for those dimensions too? IM showing some hairline cracks in rack and need to strengthen it. cheers Paul

PM Steve to see if he’s got the tracing I did
If not I will have a look to see if I still have it
May have physically posted it to him

The more modern kit ( in the previous post) from Givi that raises the carrier is not the kit they used to sell when the 1100/1150's were current models .

The old kit just consisted of the lower strengthening arms and bolts and then you used the flat universal monokey or monolock mounting plate

I put the newer style strengthening kit on my 1150gs (it was secondhand and included the Black M5 monokey plate which does not suit the bike, kept the strengthening bars and the the steel riser plate but have bought a cheap M8A alloy plate from Louis and it has the same mounting point as the M5 so bolts on .

Suits the styling on the bike and keeps the top box a little bit lower
