I put the newer style strengthening kit on my 1150gs (it was secondhand and included the Black M5 monokey plate which does not suit the bike, kept the strengthening bars and the the steel riser plate but have bought a cheap M8A alloy plate from Louis and it has the same mounting point as the M5 so bolts on .
Suits the styling on the bike and keeps the top box a little bit lower
