Hi,
Has anyone fitted a Lite Blazer? I got it from Nippy Norman with excellant service as usual. For those of you wondering what it is, it's a small rectangular bar fitted below the number plate and consists of 3 groups of LED's. The 2 outside group of LED's are running lights, the central group of LED's are a high intensity brake light. When you brake, as well as your notmal brake light, the LED's light up and the outside 'running lights' flash 7 times.
It's obviously an Americam item and obviously highly illegal to fit over here. I just like the idea of spreading more rear light. It's small and unobtrusive and I'm just considering fitting it. I would be interested in your views......

Also today travelled a 120 mile round trip to NOG and bought and had a hugger fitted. It's excellant and should be at a £176!!!!

Fit it now!

Me and Gary Brooker and Madmountainman have Hyperlites fitted - which are much the same thing. Two clusters of 8 LEDs which function as running lights and then flashing brake lights. I bought mine after seeing what they do while following MMM. They take just a couple of minutes to fit and are absolutely superb (Search for Hyperlites in the forum and you will find a thread with piccies of MMM's bike).

As for being illegal? I guess they are, but I've had two police cars behind me at lights when I have used the brakes and they didn't bat an eyelid. However, just in case the police ever get fussy I'm going to get a small waterproof microswitch so that I can disable the flasher unit at will. But I'd rather keep them flashing because it gets the bike noticed and that is what really matters. Earlier this year I got hit up the back while I was coming to a stop at traffic lights by a car doing close to 30mph. Luckily he swerved and "just" ripped off the nearside pannier (which contained my 2 metre long 20lb steel security chain) and completely trashed the front of his car. Hyperlites might have prevented that accident.

b.t.w Hyperlites work out at around £42. Probably less now the dollar has dropped even further.

Thanks for that pic CC it does look good. Will fit mine this weekend along with the smaller number plate too.

Look good. However, I'm waiting for Lite Buddy's to make a version for the 1200GS. Similar principle, except they fit inside the indicator so totally unobtrusive. Can be running lights/brake or just brake, and, with a small addition, can flash if you want. If you indicate and brake at the same time they alternate with the indicator which is kind of neat.

Had them on my KRS.
