Litelock X1

@Onahi just braved the cold to go out to the garage.
The Litelok X1 will not secure through the rear rear hub of an r1250, as the brake disc is in the way. It would probably need to be a good 40mm wider to clear it.
It won’t fit around the rear wheel rim either.

For garage use, I have a ground anchor, with Oxford chain and shackle, which goes through the hub.
For touring, I have the X1 for the front and their Core Moto for securing the rear to an immovable object.

There is a recent YouTube vid (Two Wheeled Dreamer I think), where he simply put the X1 through the rear wheel spokes. Bad idea, but he does have a purchase link for £10 off one.

Pics of it through the front

Thank you. Yes, It was "Two wheeled Dreamers" video that make me look at the X1. In the comments they all told him to fit through the rear hub, not the spokes. Knowing now it doesn't fit ! Cheers. I have a ground anchor in My garage. But when Im away, only an alarmed disc lock on the front. But seeing your images looks better.
Thank you again. (y)

What's so special about these things ? Looks like an old fashioned push iron D-lock

As a basic deterrent measure, ‘old fashioned’ conventional locks are fine. The new generation of locks are made of different materials, making them much less vulnerable to wilful and determined attacks by thieves, armed with the latest battery powered cutting wheels and large lever bolt / chain cutters.

However, do not skimp on the butter.

Thank you.
I am thinking upgrading the lock on the GS and Litelock should be the way.
I watched "Two wheeled dreamers" video. In that he was told to fit the X1 through the rear hub. Instead of through the spokes. But on further research, that isn't possible. But throught the front hub looks to be good.
I will add the X1 to compliment my disk lock.

I have been reading this thread as I have been mulling over getting a Hiplok DX.
Just saw a Litelok X3 for sale localish so bought that.
Used a couple of times by the PO in the 5 months since he bought it.
Paid €210... they are €299 +P&P here.

Got my X1 today

Defo cannot fit over the rear wheel but can fit through the rear spokes and the paralever link (the bar above the swingarm) just to make it more of a pain

CANNOT go through the rear hub

I only went for X1 as I already have the roadlok on the front so just wanted additional security to put potential thieves off for my travels down to Bosnia next year.
