Hi I need help,
Just back from an amazing blast down to Strasbourg with 3 day trips out into the black forest (hochstrasse and surrounding roads) day 2 north alsace and day 3 south alsace, even found a good milf club in Strasbourg called retro (which is a must) on saturday night.
Bike is running great and just about run in now at 40k miles from new, she's a 05 1200GS. The last few weeks 2 electrical faults have started to occur. The first one is if I leave the bike overnight or for a few hours when I start the engine the hazard lights come on on there own? Not a massive problem but annoying to have to keep switching them off?
Second one is the rear light stays on sometimes when I turn the bike off and walk away Im worried that the day I dont spot it I will flatten the battery?
Is there a park light or something that I am turning on?
Any help would be really appreciated. She as a new batterie that I fitted last week which didn't fix it. Also just a point for anyone interested I found out the hard way that water collects under the underseat tool tray. I was coming back from the czech grand prix last year in heavy rain and this caused the relay under the tray to corrode because it was sitting in a big pool of water for a few days, I didn't replace the relay but soldered a wire back in (the fault stopped the bike from starting, turned over but wouldn't fire). This DIY fix may be causing the fault on the electrics?
Nice one.
PS Day 2 I was following a german
on a 1200 GSA anyone who says they don't handle as well as a 1200GS may need to reconsider. We both had pegs, boots kitchen sink etc grounding down without any dramas, happy days. All of the group on the trip (excluding me) all own jap naked bikes and 2 are now considering a GS.
