Llangollen and Dolgellau places to stay ?

A mate (CHASR of this parish) and I are thinking of heading up to N Wales next week and doing a route featured in the latest ABR mag.
Can't upload at the mo as Photobucket is offline for maintenance.

But we would most likely need to spend a night in Llangollen and then after riding a 150 mile route including Ponderosa Cafe and Llanberis Pass,stay near Dolgellau on the second night before heading home.

Can anyone recommend a good pub style accom in Llangollen and Dolgellau-I seem to recall that Llangollen has been used for Tosser Tours in the past,staying at The Hand Hotel-is it any good ?

I guess it was used for the Tosser Tour as it could accomodate everybody but are there better smaller places ?

No, it's ok mainly because it's right in town with a great breakfast and if you're the lucky the Male voice choir will turn up

Niether are the Waldorf Astoria, but old coach houses with character.
The staff of both hotels do a great job and evening meal and breakfasts are worthy of any Tosser's credit.
