Loading Mapsource to zumo 550

Help SVP

I am able to load mapsource North America V6 maps (relevant )to Streetpilot 3 without problems.

Also able to load waypoints and routes the kind bike hire company has e-mailed me (never ceases to amaze me that they can send the route via the interweb - I digress).

But, when I call up the routes it says it will not follow exact route blah blah. will this self correct once in USA?

Second Q

Am unable to load zumo 550 (1Gb card in place) with North American maps.

I am using old windows (2000 I think) laptop as until recently Garmin did not favour mac. I have 2 lovely macs, but have not yet loaded the patch to enable using them.

I have paid for the zumo
I have paid for the North America V6 CD
I have codes for both.


WTF can't I just download a map and use it?

All above for 4 day jaunt in the Grand canyon

1) The routes were probably compiled on a different version of the mapping. You'll need to recalculate them.

2)The maps you bought have a license to be used on one GPS unit, if you bought them and unlocked them to the SP3 then they won't work on the Zumo.

Garmin will make you buy a second license for the Zumo.

Heard that there is a small program called GUnlocker. Try it you won't regret it.
