That looks so right.

Simple and well engineered.
No bling master flash.

Really hope I'm happy with the PD shock so I can have the confidence to refresh some other bikes with them. :D

I asked about spring colours rob.

It's generally red, red or red. But he can also do black as per yours .

This could get pricey , but compared to the big named brands fantastic value !

Subframes

Basic on the left. G/s on the right.

The basic subframe is much more substantial and has meatier tubing. As soon as you pick them up you can tell the basic frame is so much more meaty. The down side is it also has a unique pannier frame in he right hand side.

That sub frame was supposedly the last basic sub frame world wide

have you condsidered that you may be a porky fat beggar and taking too much rubbish? Given the cost of suspension you might try a bivi a dos bag and a diet, just a thought :-)

Following on from my fully loaded ( camping gear and pillion ) with my GS 100 PD and the associated handing issues that I assume are down to a crap OE rear shock and maybe front forks/springs.
I got to thinking tonight how would the GS 80 cope with the same loads for a trip ?
My line of thinking is the better equipped rear White Power shock.
Anyone have any thoughts / experience ?

A better option maybe ? :nenau

How very fucking dare you !

I'm 13.5 stone of pure muscle.

One mans crap is another mans gold, I'm not doing 10 days fecking camping in a marigold glove !

I have standards and they'll prevail.
I'm after a good lightweight table to go with mu helinox one chair.... Anyone ? :nenau

Yep mines blue!

The only difference I can see between them is the mounting lugs ( right side ) for the side panel are on the top of the downward strut. And the length looks longer forward of the mounting strut for the top of the mudguard.
Seems bloody solid enough to me anyway.
Wider diameter and thicker steel maybe .
Hard to say without comparing them together in the steel.

Rear shock

Rob I'm still riding the Straypuss R100 you sorted for me with its Hagon
It still seems perfect but since your post couple of years back don't trust it
-- so is techno flex the way to go ?
Cheers
Mike
