here is it- the definite statement if you have BMW Motorrad Insurance.
Further to our recent telephone conversation, please be advised of the procedure when a courtesy bike is required.

You must show your BMW Motorad certificate of insurance to the dealer who should then call us to confirm the model and registration of the courtesy bike, the motorcycle must not be of a higher insurance grouping than your own vehicle, we will then ask the number of days required. We will then issue a temporary covernote which is either kept in our files or posted to the insured and a copy kept by ourselves. No fee should be charged by ourselves or the dealer (a fee is only charged by the dealer if you do not have BMW Motorad insurance). This service is offered as a free extension to your policy for a maximum of 4 days, we then inform the underwriters of this, for their records.

I hope this has been of assistance to you.

Regards

It's one of the benefits of having BMW insurance. :thumb
If not then you have to pay a fee and fill up another form which makes you liable for the excess by giving your credit card details in the event of an accident.

Or, if get the reg number of the loan bike the day before you need it, you simply add the bike to your policy online - if you've been bright enough to use eBike.

Personally, I wouldn't go near Devitt with the longest possible bargepole.

meh, i was put on the dealers insurance when i loaned a r1150rt whilst my dak was getting it's 600 service. No charge at all and no card details required, just had to return it with the same ammount of fuel.
