Looking for a favour here. I have a factory lowered R1200GS '08 and the original saddle is excrutiatingly painful! It may be a combination of my lardy 15 stone body and the more upright riding position of the GS but it feels as if I am just sitting on two rails! So I bought a Touratech Kahedo saddle and, to me, it is just as uncomfortable!! Whilst touring in France last month the pain was so bad I had to buy a cheap inflatable pillow to sit on!!! Now, before I buy yet another saddle, I am looking to borrow a sargent or a corbin from some kind GS owner near to me in West Fife. Anyone out there able to help?

I hope you get to try a Sergent I bought one untried recently and dont regret it.:JB

Sorry, I can't help with the loan of a seat but having used a BMW low seat on all three of my bikes over the last four and a half years, I've never understood how people find the low seat so uncomfortable. For long trips I usually wear cycling underwear but for anything else I find that the seat's fine.

The Corbin is undoubtedy comfortable, in the horse saddle like way that all Corbins are but if you're short of leg you might find that it's a bit too wide and makes it difficult to get your feet down. I don't have a Corbin currently, although I did have one on my old VFR but have ridden a GS fitted with one in the USA.

I've never ridden on a Sargent but like what I've seen in terms of the attention to detail and quality of construction.

Now.....about you letting me try your Kahedo....;)

The Kahedo, which I got on the 12th of April this year, will be for sale on this forum very soon to help pay for it's replacement.

I have a Sargent that's sitting idle in the garage :(

You're welcome to try it. In fact you could have an extended test ride as I won't be riding the bike this month.

loan of a corbin for a day or two???

Pedro has very kindly given me a loan of his Sargent for a few days. This is greatly appreciated. Now, does anyone in Central Scotland have a Corbin saddle for an R1200 GS that I could borrow so I can compare it to the Sargent before I decide which one to buy?
Cheers

I'm with Wully on this, bought a kahedo for a weeks trip, sold it! just bought a pair of sergents and used the riders seat for the GOTC - 300 mile in a day, no probs. Never tried a Corbin tho, no need the noo
