Location of spare Canbus connector

Where is the spare Canbus connector? It's normally easy to find but I can't seem to locate it on my 2013 GS LC

Btw I have already tried searching this forum without any luck
 
I may be wrong, but i thought all toilet GS bikes had a satnav cradle fitted. So no need for a spare canbus socket.
 
There is one on the right hand side of the headstock.
 
Mine was inside the lip of the right hand fairing best get your wife to look for it lol
 
dont have a wife ...... Why assume this was a man who was posting, women ride gs1200 as well :rolleyes:
 
I looked at my bike last night and the only connector under the beak I could see without taking any fairings off was taken by the GPS prep kit.

Is there another under there somewhere?

See post 2. i thought all had cradles fitted using the only socket.
 
Revisiting this thread as I'm searching for one too. Just taken delivery of a GSA Triple Black and seeking to understand if there is a spare Canbus socket available or if it's already been used by the Satnav. Is there one in addition to this?

Mine is a 1200GS LC TB bought Sep 16. It is Euro 4 spec. The GPS plug, which was always taped up in the head-stock area of previous models, is now used to feed the GPS cradle. But there is another empty socket with a blanking plug tucked hard into a recess in the fairing on the right hand side. I've no idea what it's for. When I looked at other later bikes at the dealers I could not see the same socket, tho' I could not have a good poke about. It may well be there just a little too tucked away to spot. Unfortunately I was not on my bike so could not compare. The fairing recess is roughly opposite the Right fork leg. Have a good look, you may well have the same.

If you have the gps cradle there isnt a spare connector,
the gps wiring has an un used lead thats tucked away at install,
the circuit for gps and front accessory socket has a low current rating, so extra loads arent catered for,
depending on what you are powering , using a hex ez can or similar may be an option ,

does anyone know how low? I'm trying to power a tank bag contents that's likely to be;

Autocom unit
Iphone charger
bike to bike radio

think that might be too much? I guess the only way is trying it. I believe the accessory unit just shuts down if it's current limit is reached?

The thing that might be of use to you would be a PDM60. Not at all difficult to install (as long as you don't drop one half of the connecter like that dozy TWAT Phill Elston!) and will provide multiple power outlets.
 
I have a 2014 GSA LC with the Nav5/cradle wired in and am thinking of running power to a Drift Stealth. I believe I have a spare connector under the right fairing (fitting new horns and stumbled across what I think is it). I'll take another look but in the meantime, if anyone else, of greater knowledge on electrics than me, could let me know, in their opinion of course as I won't hold you to your word, if this would give enough power for the camera, I would be grateful. :beerjug:
 
I believe that the cable that comes down from the Nav mount has two connectors coming off it. One plugs into the bike's loom and the other is spare. If that is the one you are seeing then I believe it is an audio output from the Nav which can be used to connect to the speaker system on the RT but is redundant on the GS.
