Lock barrels

Can anyone advise if the lock barrels on vario and BMW Ally panniers are interchangeable? (The same) I believe they are but would like confirmation

Memory of a goldfish .... didn't get a reply on here, and can't remember if I sorted it by mixing the barrels or not

I've got a vario top case, and Ally boxes ... so perhaps someone can confirm

I just asked at BMW and they tell me that they're different...bugger.

I've got an old ali pannier that I shortened and made into a top-box for the Mrs. It has no locks and I can only find a full set of the ali locks on-line (all 8 of them) but you can get the Vario ones in pairs...thought it was worth a try.
