Having trouble wif my home pooter not being cookied, although my pooter @ work now works OK after the change of hosting of this forum. Any quick fix - have tried deleting all cookies on the machine and logging back in again, but no luck?

Work access via Demon leased line, home via Tiscali / modem.

Or am I destined to enter my (overly-long) user name every time I visit?

Are you using any cookie blocking/monitoring software?

I found that if even when I CTRL-F5d it didn't replace the cookies correctly until I had manually removed them - then everything worked again.
I use Cookie Pal, which is quite useful for providing a greater degree of control of cookies than IE normally does - it also makes deleting them very easy.

Cookie Pal

Top software - use it to protect your privacy. You'll be amazed how many advertising and web trend companies are putting cookies on your machine - delete 'em!

cookies

Could anyone tell me - in easy to understand terms - how to remove these cookies?!

No cookie-blockers. Still puzzled.

To remove cookies, right-click on 'Start' then 'Explore'. Cookies are kept in C:\windows\cookies if you're using 95 or 98. If using 2000 or XP, they're prolly in a sub-directory called Profiles somewhere. Can't fire it up 'cos mine's a 95 machine (still!)

To delete, click anywhere in the right-hand pane and use Ctrl-A to select them all, then shift-delete to blitz them without sending them to the recycle bin.

Deleting 'Cookies'

Here you go Ralphy..

Whilst viewing this site..

left click on Tools at the top of the screen.
click on Internet Options.
click on the General tab.

and you should have a panel with lots of options, including deleting cookies.

Good luck.. (oh yes, you may find that you have to log on again when you come back to this site..)

Same sort of problem - OK on werrk machine but have to log on every time at home, not the end of the world but frustrating - is it my ISP:confused:

When I said 'in easy to understand terms' I wasn't joking - I'm a computer idiot!
For example, I cannot see a 'Tools' at the top of my screen - is this down to my ISP - or me!?

I had the same problem and no joy fixing it so just re registerd and used a differant name just not to be on the safe side.It now works fine I,m with NTL.

No luck.

I'm still having the problems. I've cleared my cookies and logged in using my password and still no luck.... the next time I come back its the same again. What should we do daddy (PAUL G) ?
