Hi Folks,
recomendations for longer/wider pedals plse. Cannot for the life of me get my size 10's under stock gear lever. This contributed to me missing a gear, hitting horse shite & going down the road. (Q. as a dog owner, if my dog craps on the pavement, by law I have to remove it. Is there such a law for horse riders?....personally I think horses should have a tax disc glued to their ass before they can stroll down any road.)

I've got a wunderlich brake pedal extender, from SPC. It looks really naff, like a £1 coin glued to a pedal, but it works a treat, makes it much easier in town using the back brake with Herman Munster boots on.

Nippy Norman does one which I have fitted, seems to have improved my occassonal missed gear. For photo click on the webpage at the top of this thread.

Fastway footpegs

Try fitting the Fastway Footpegs (fairly expensive but very well made) in their lowest position, but leave the gear lever as standard. This gives you a slightly larger gap in which to insert your delicate daisy's !

The link will take you to Nippy Normans website who comes highly recommended.

Don't forget, whatever you do to lower the footpeg will make it harder to place your foot over the lever.

Having to raise your foot off the peg to push down on the gear lever's not nice at all.

Is the gear lever height adjustable ?

Adjust the lever height...

Yes. You can adjust the length of the linkage to change the height of the lever. Loosen the two 6mm nuts (10mm spanner) and turn the rod to adjust. Don't forget to tighten the two lock nuts up afterwards!

I seem to remember that it's easier to do this if you remove the plastic cover that holds the accessory socket.

Yes, I realised that when I looked at the bike later on. There aren't two locknuts, there's one, and of course you have to remove the little steel wire clip from the upper joint, pop it off the ball, turn it to lengthen/shorten the link etc etc.

Replacement is the reverse of removal, as Haynes always say.
