Look of new GSA starting to grow on me.

I've ordered a white GSA, which should be here in April. This is due to having one of the very earliest GS's and it continuing to have clutch/gearchange problems. After a lot of "fixes" and trips back to the dealer, it's going back to BMW and I had to choose between a new GS or the GSA. I went for the GSA, hoping that the heavier flywheel and damping in the drivetrain might help. Seems now they have changed the whole thing anyway, to work with the new Gear-Assist.
I saw the bike at the NEC and wasn't exactly blown away, but it's looks are definitely growing on me, especially if you compare it side by side to the GSA TC. It looks like a continuation of the line but updated/more modern and sharper.
It's taken a fair bit of stick on here, but even the graphics are the same font, albeit fatter(like most of us!) It might not be to everybody's taste but I'm starting to like it :thumb2

Congratulations Wyreflyer, I'm sure it'll be a nice piece. The look is growing on me as well.

I must admit, I like the look of it as well, let us know your thoughts in April

Hope it's an improvement on your old one! Shame a few issues have spoilt a great bike for a few.

Roll on Spring!

1200 not quite the same font, the devil is in the detail, compare the 12.
Also the knobblies on the TC side view make the old bike look more robust.

I don't deny they are different, just trying to point out that the comments like "cartoon graphics" are OTT, I agree with everyone on here that they could be better/more subtle, but they're not that different really. The more I look at the new one, the more it resembles it's elders.

I did 18000 miles on my 2010 GSA and loved it to pieces, then got seduced by the slinky WC! I think the GS WC is an amazing bike, I was just unlucky. Now hoping the new GSA can rekindle my love affair and get the excitement back.

I like your pictorial comparisons. Trekker3 latched on to knobblies, but they make ANY bike look robust and are a natural for any GS/GSA.I like the new GSA and that's why I've ordered one:thumb2

Regardless of the looks it must be one of the best all round bikes money can buy and after my test ride of a GS WC I can say that it doesn't numb my hand as the 1200GSA did. I'll have to change my background image on the PC. BMW and colours doesn't mix so I'm waiting till the new undated GSA WC is launched in red :D.

Talk about that 2 of my mates has both got white GS LC's. Derek tried twice on separate occasions to start David's bike :D, silly old boy.

I'd like a GSA, but the additional seat height puts me off. With a 31.5 inch inside leg the standard GS is the max height for me. Otherwise I would trade.

To which should be added.... But I bought it anyway.

Relax, you've still nearly four months to fully convince yourself...... and love is blind, anyway.

I could only ride the old GSA with the seat from the standard GS and even then it was a bit too precarious at a stand still two-up.

The new one actually felt a bit more manageable at the bike show, but I wish they'd offer a low chassis option (standard GS suspension would do) as I'd like the big tank now I'm used to the 250-300 mile range of the RT.

Well said, Sven. I have a short inside leg and could only manage by 2007 GSA1200 because it had the excellent Sargent low seat, but even then it was sometimes a tad too tall. I think it would be good if they could offer a serious option for people like us. We're not all Amazon-legged riders.

Sometimes life just ain't fair.

Think of the advantages. Polite people let you through to the front of the crush over the new 1200GSA WC, us taller fellows have to crane our necks over the scrum.
