Hi all,
I have a 2011 GSA Adventure with standard exhaust pipes which even after 100 miles are turning gold. What is best to use to keep them looking okay. I know they will turn fully gold over time, but I dislike seeing them go dull would rather they shine a bit.

Any thoughts appreciated. :)

IMHO can't be stopped.

I have stainless on my 1150, which can be cleaned up with effort but are back to the dull golden brown within a few miles.

Even if you'd spec'ed chrome pipes, these will turn blue (which I personally like)

Remove them from the bike, hang them up in the garage.
Fit remus/mivv/the ones Bilco sells whose name escaped me headers instead...
Stick nice clean shiney ones back on when you sell it....

Spot on :thumb2

No amount of polishing will get my chrome ones clean and sparkling.....but I like the 'blueing' anyway. :D

It's easy to do - Solvol Autosol metal polish and elbow grease - do it every couple of weeks and they will stay a lovely shiny golden brown. Dit it for 5 years on my 2005 1200GS and now doing it on my 2010 1200GS - it is hard work but worth it.

Thanks for the help everyone. I fully apreciate what you are saying and expect that I wont be able to keep them shining but I will give optiglanz a try. :)
