I'm going to look at a 2022 V85TT Travel on Sunday with 7920kms on the clock.
New to MG but want one to go with my GSPD. Anyone got any tips about what to look for other than the normal things?
Appreciate any advice

I don’t think there’s too much to worry about.
Check the paint work on engine cases, some issues with colours not quite matching, and shilst you are there, check for paint bubbling at the joins??

I bought one with 11000 miles on, ran it till 23000 with no issues at all. Traded it last year for a V100.
The V85TT is a fab bike

I have one. Love it. Agree with previous. Only thing I’d advise is get one with tubeless. They changed in 22 or 23. JJH

Absolutely great bike....have 27k trouble free miles on mine, and have used it for some pretty big trips. Tubeless tyres came in on 2021 so you'll be covered there.

Lot of positive ownership comments in here. Being honest this is a bike that has entirely passed me by. What's the deal, why do owners seem to like them so much? No trolling, genuine question.

It’s a Guzzi thing, but I’m not really up on the newer models.

Not the fastest, or the best handling but just a great and enjoyable package.

Once they get under your skin it’s very common that you’ll end up with more than one.

I finally bought one in March after riding one when they first came out in 2019.

I like big, grunty twins and it ticks that box. Previous bikes have been a TDM850, R1150GS, XTZ1200 Super Tenere and an R1200RS. A Moto Guzzi was always likely to be a candidate.

I also like shaft drive and if you want one without spending BMW boxer money there is a very short list of candidates.

I've done 4000 miles since March, much of it in Spain, and I am really happy with the bike. I'll be doing another 1500 or so in France in September. It's a very good touring bike.

I have the V85TT GDO (Guardia D'Onore) had it 2 1/2 years from new. Engine is a peach and full of Guzzi character, simple air cooled magic with enough power and grunt for real world riding. Doesn't suffer with an overload of 'tech', just enough useful stuff. It's also the most comfortable bike to ride and tour on. Go get a test ride, you will be smitten 😀

I think it’s a suck it and see bike. I wasn’t interested in one at all till my brother bought one. I’m very happy with mine but the dealer has 3 second hand ones in stock now and won’t take mine. Oh he will but about 3000 below market. I tried for a rt that cought my eye but no trader would bid on my bike. I’m not too upset. Good handeling good tank range comfortable and not too dear. Plenty of farkles out there. JJH

I've been after one of these for quite a while but usually way out of budget. Picking this one up next week https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/267310689148.
Mechanically sound but slightly cosmetically challenged (gives me something to do). McDonald's colour scheme of course :). For a commuter/solo tourer it seems to tick a lot of boxes, plus it looks bloody lovely.

Nothing a couple of W/ E's won't sort out. FSH good and it's got some very useful extras. Enjoy.
Thank you. Figured for a couple grand under what dealers charge for shiny ones it was worth a punt. Bit of paint, a polish andsome stainless fasteners and it'll be looking cracking I reckon. Just need to look into a decent top box.

I have a 30 litre topbox on mine which really suits the bike.

I have a 60 liter on mine. Tumu or something like that. I don’t know if it suits the bike but it suits me. JJH

get a Givi rack and fitting kit https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225916416130 and use a Monokey box. I use a 45 litre one on my V85TT Travel. Boxes can be picked up for less than the cost of the fitting kit https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/177302504753

Thanks for the heads up chaps. I'm a bit of a tart though and I've been trying to find a top box in keeping with the guzzi image. Aka £400+ givi numbers etc. Will definitely get the fitting kit though, thank you.
