Looking at a V85TT Travel

I've had mine for two years now, apart from a pinking issue which has now been resolved it has been fabulous. The bike is plenty fast enough, it handles well, great brakes, good fuel consumption, its comfortable, excellent build quality, easy to service and doesn't cost the earth to buy. What's not to like? I've only done just on 7,000 miles but it brings a grin each time i ride it, my pal has a Centenario model with over 20,000 trouble free miles.
They remind me of the old BMW airheads, relative simplicity, with a ruggedness and character that is not found in many modern bikes. Recently an ex colleague who worked with me on the motorcycle section tried mine , he loved it and he's now looking to p/ex his BMW R1200Rs for one.
Moto Guzzis are not everyones cup of tea, they often take a while to appreciate, but eventually they get under your skin.

if he goes to A&D they might not offer him a good price for the RS. They still have mine in stock that they took off me in March, although it languished in the yard for 3 months before they washed it.

Picked up my V85 TT. Was a bit of an epic day heading to stoke and back to get it. The M6 on a Friday was horrendous, nothing like a couple hours of filtering to get to know a new bike.

Felt a bit underwhelmed at first on the motorway coming from a R1200R as it didn't have the power I am used to. Sat at motorway speeds fine tho. As soon as I came off the M74 and headed the scenic route to Falkirk it all tweaked for me. What a hoot of a bike on twisty A and B roads. Really shocked me how nicely it handled and you can really throw it into corners. Riding position is just perfect, fits me like a glove. The bars are seriously wide!

Couple hours of deep cleaning and the condition is no way near as bad as I first thought. Some stainless fasteners on order and I'll get the final drive powder coated in the winter.

Just waiting on my givi plate and Dolomiti 46L to go on and it'll be just the perfect commuter :-) (also waiting on original screen to be posted to me, came with a horrendous barn door givi number)

it will grow on you fast, lucky bugger living next door to only Guzzi dealer in Scotland for servicing etc. Did Jim Allan's not have any suitable bikes in stock?

It already is. I think they have one but it's not this colour scheme and it's significantly more money. Worth a day trip to England to buy this for £4600 I reckon. 👍 Dealers usually asking 6k+ for similar bikes.
