looking for a 1150 gsa silver tank

Hi. Im looking for a silver 1150 gsa 30l tank, but cant find any on the internet. Does anyone have any idea where to get one? (yes local bmw dealer has one, but dont want to pay new price for a tank..yet).

you could put an ad in the For sale And Wanted section for one.. but you would have to be a site sponsor to do that.

to say they're like 'hens teeth' is an understatement. Motorworks and co. all have waiting lists. When they appear on Ebay (which is rare) they sell for circa £400. On here they sell usually within minutes.

Forget about getting one in the colour you want. If you see one in any colour get it and have it resprayed.. thats if you manage to get it at all, of course.

problem being not only are they going on 1150's of both types. but they're also being snapped up by 1100 owners and there's a limited supply.

I gave up on the idea completely. easier and cheaper with less angst involved strapping on a jerrycan if need be.

ok then. Hoped some one knew of some german used parts surplier or something like that.. Mayby I should just go for a TT big tank then. Wonder if it will go with my wunderlich engine bars...?

Anyone else makes aftermarket tanks for the 1150 gsa?

ask for a busted one.......

I asked the dealer for an insurance right off tank. He had one (in silver would you belive) had a small dent about 30mm long.

much less money and had it filled and sprayed..... errrrrrr red

its amazing how much even proper battered tanks go for though.

one in america went the other day for just under £100 and it was a proper wreck. Looked like a car had driven over it!

Its also incredible how easy Insurance companies "write off" almost new tanks with the smallest dent. Look around and ask the question you never know

There is one on Ebay going very cheap (I think) however you may need to discuss Postage.
