Sorry for any added confusion, buy I wonder why you are looking for an R80 head, if you intend to use it with R100 cylinders?

I thought there may be a clearance issue with R100 pistons and R80 heads - but that may perhaps only apply to high CR R100 (i.e. 1:9.5) pistons?

want to keep the 80 heads to retain the carb setup and already have an 80 head. I have since sorted it out, existing heads on the way to richie moore to be machined and exhaust thread fixed. going to sell the post 87 head on.

thanks for the input though. I forgot to edit the wanted post after decision made yesterday.

. . . existing heads on the way to richie moore to be machined . . . .

Just curious, again; what machining work is to be done?

If adapting an R80 head to be used with R100 barrels/pistons, would that include opening up the diameter of the head dome to 94 mm?

I think that's generally what he does. alters the contours of the combustion chamber whilst keeping the stock 80 valve gear.
