We are booked and ready for our usual trip to Lemans 24hr in april and are looking for a good B&B near Caens for the early ferry home on the monday after the race?
Can anyone recommend a good local hostilery?

I've never gone wrong with Logis-de-France, their website is in English as well. Just type in the town/area or have a serach on the map.

I suggest you look for somewhere in Bayeux. Caen was flattened in WWII and is mainly an industrial city now and not that attractive, Bayeux on the other hand is very olde worlde with some great restaurants and a lovely place to spend an evening and has the advantage of being that bit closer to Cherbourg (I assume you are sailing from there...). We stayed in the Hotel D'Argouges which is a two star in the town centre, secure garage for the bikes and a lovely setting.

You could check out Mike Werners website as he lives in Normandy and is a good source of info - I forget his web address but I'm sure someone or Mike himself will be along here soon with the info.

Check the Bayeux Tourist info site out also - Clicky

There are lots of nice places to stay around the area. I stayed in Arromanches on the coast in 2004 for a night on my way through the area. But I agree with the above comment on Caen it was obliterated by alied bombing a few weeks after D-Day.

Yep, can also recommend Arromanches, nice little town with a good, biker friendly, B&B run by Adrian Cox here. Book early, he's very popular ;)
