Has anyone fixed or sorted out the problem of paint starting to bubble on the front engine plate on a 1200gs. I contacted a local dealer who quoted about £400 and 3 hours work to correct the problem. With my lack of info on these bikes is this a common problem? and is it worth spending £400 to sort out or just rub it down and get the hammerite out and worry about it when i come to sell it many years down the line.
I'v ordered a fender extender to hopefully reduce the amount of gloop hitting the engine.
While i'm here is anyone using or got knowledge of a Schuberth R1 i'v been offered one for £255 (from a shop) in matt black this seems a good deal!
Many thanks Chris

Take a look at my replys in the 'Go on you know you want one' section.

If your bike is sub 20k and not too long out of warranty, you may get a good will claim from BMW given its a very common fault. Worth a try.
