Looking to put a comfy seat

Thank you . I have got a Airhawk. Keep looking at seats but they cost a bit .. trying to find a good one for me ..

I've looked all over the internet and they are costly, I took my seat to a trimmer on Friday and had around a 1/12 inch shaved off the top and around half inch on the sides, what a difference The standard seat is to thick, trim it to suit your needs and you won't be disappointed, the seat cover just staples back on.

Did something similar with my Twin Cam back in 2010, but I got Tony Archer to put a gel insert in and also lower the height by an inch.
He recovered the seat with the old cover which at the time was new.

Result £70 and super comfy. I did also use a sheepskin throw over for very long trips which made it really plush.

I expect I'll be looking to do exactly the same with my 2017 bike.

Tony Archer.

Crap website, top quality workman.

I have the Touratech and thinks its an excellent daily seat. It is firm, but relieved ALL the pain i had on my coccyx & it gives excellent support.
I also tried the BMW comfort seat and after one single journey sent it back for a refund. Not comfortable AT ALL for me. Saying that, my wife is very happy with her BMW passenger Comfort Seat.

If you have the time and $$, i HIGHLY recommend DAY LONG from Russell Day Long in the US.
They are a pleasure to deal with and make THE most comfy, well made and customized seats your tush will ever have the pleasure of sitting on.
I have had a number of seats from them and each one was stunning & comfy. However, bear in mind that they are touring seats and may change how/if you can plant your feet at a stop due to their design.
The seat fixes you in place so they are not meant for ´spirited´riders who like to shift position too much.
The leather option is NOT waterproof. So you will need a seat cover if you choose leather.

I don´t have one for my GSA yet, as my wife and i do not do any long distance touring on it. But the moment we decide to, i will order a dual seat from RCP!

Where did you take it? I'm in Wigan too

I am using a Sargent Seat after having the same issues as you and no joy at all with an Air Hawk. Frankly the BMW seats are a joke

The Sargent is a bit pricey mind!

Makes me laugh how someone can spend 14k on bike and then ride uncomfortably for the sake of maybe 350 quid on a seat, to which improves all day comfort and enjoyment.

Plus when you have finished with it you will retrieve probably 80% of the price you paid. Buy a sargent its a win win:thumb
