My headlight had stopped working its one of Les's Hid50 bulbs, I tried the battery charger and topped it up but nothing, then tried changing bulbs over and a few other ideas. Anyway it turned out that when you moved the grey connector just to the left of the headlight adjuster screw it came on. we unplugged it and plugged it back in and lo and behold the headlight now works!!
Anyone know what its for??
While I'm on which way are you supposed to turn the adjuster to make the dip lower? doesnt seem to matter which way I turn it nothing happens and I'm blinding people from behind!

Clockwise to lower the beam.... but you have the "2-up" lever switched down in your picture, so your light should be lower than a snakes belly anyway?

That's the control cable for the headlights. If disconnected, headlights no workie.

As for adjuster, sounds like your cup is not on your ball. Or to put it another way, you have a bugger of a job to do! I had this happen when my bike was in for MOT. Fixed myself to save on labour. You need to take off headlight (unplugging HID and the cable we just talked about! And the sidelight, windscreen and instrument connector come to think of it). Open up the 2 circular headlight backs. Have a look inside and you'll just be able to see a cup and ball at the bottom. You need to get a hook under the cup and lift it up onto the ball. Easy.....yeah right! Saved myself a hefty £220 for a new headlight unit and untold amount in labour so well happy.

Fell apart

That's exactly what happened on my MOT, but it's all because of the cup and ball. Good job it was warranty because otherwise you would have been swindled. It's only pushed together and held by friction anyway. I bet your garage new that too and that they've sold your headlight on fleabay too! (once they fixed it in 2 mins flat!)
