Morning all

When riding upward of 60 miles an hour the bike feels like the fork bolts are loose, the forks feel flexible especially if you wiggle them very sightly from left to right, almost as if the front wheel is not attached properly to the handlebars?

I'm on my 3rd GSA and don't remember the last 2 behaving like this, my last bike was a sports bike and I was wondering if I was imagining it...

Going to nip round the front of the bike tonight with a torque wrench and have a good look, had a wiggle when it was stationary and nothing seems loose...

Would appreciate some thoughts before taking it to Mr BMW.

Thanks

Tony

Hi Smug,

I've had a quick look and at present all seems okay, going to pop it up on the centre stand and get someone to sit on the back seat to get the front of the bike off the ground and have a good old wiggle to see if I can find any play.

Thanks JetJock, hoping its going to be something simple, failing that I'll take it up to BMW when its due its yearly service and get them to ride it.

The centre stand is almost dead centre so you won't need anyone to sit on the bike.
Check all suspension bearings not only steering.

Sent via iPhone so expect strange words

Check bushes on top of forks for play and or steering bearing play

Everything looks fine, had a good tug and twist and can find no play. Need to get someone else with a similar bike to ride mine and see what they think.

Thanks for the replies

Should have asked, does anyone live near me in Horndean, Hampshire that could give my bike a ride? Would supply tea?

I'm not too far away in Fareham and would be happy to check your bike over and test ride. I'd lend you my GSA in comparison but it's currently in pieces for a minor refurb. Drop me a PM if you want me to check it, I need an excuse to visit J&S in Waterlooville anyway.

Thanks Guys, checked front and back, all feels normal. Going to ask someone at Bahnstormers to give it a ride and see what they think. Will keep you posted.

Any of these - chipped/mapped/AFX... with a heavy wrist action will seriously lighten the front end especially in the lower gears. :thumb

My last GSA had a full system, PC 3 and was put on a Dyno, as I remember it didn't behave like this. Will get it up to BMW in the next couple of weeks and see what they think. Thanks again.
