Loose Screw On Starter Motor Side - Small Oil Leak

long ride today. Came home and found this screw loose and a small oil leak from that area.

another GS LC on the same ride had the same experience.

anyone know what is going on with that screw ?

I had the same problem at about 3000 miles oil over my right boot took it back to dealer to sort out. Done a couple of thousand miles since no more issues

hi Steve. What did the dealer do ? I am told that there is a recall now for this issue.

I tightened it up (such that I could since the access is hindered by the starter motor) and after a short ride today , it loosened itself again.

mine had the same problem as well. It is known problem on some LC bikes. Someone at factory forgot to put super glue while tightening this screw., that's what I was told at dealers...

You can't get to the bolt to do it up tight. They took the starter motor off and and cleaned it up tightened the bolt and it's all been good since.
