Hi All,

about 3 weeks ago my 2012 Gsa went in for its annual service, i had been noticing some throbbing on braking and after checking Vines agreed so they put new discs on, before they gave it back they said there was an issue, maybe bearings so i had to leave the bike with them and they changed them too.

I also had a new front tyre fitted that day that i brought online but not by them, ive just come back from The Ardennes and notices a bad shake at about 85mph so thought it was balancing, ive just took the front wheel of to take it to the place i had the tyre done but noticed that a few of the spokes are loose.

Now i know that the tyre will need to come back off to tighten them which will be at my cost if i take it to the tyre shop as its not really there fault, so should i take it back to vines as a warrenty issue ?

advice or piss taking welcome :D

Thought you didn't need to take wheel or tyre off to adjust the spokes as they're laced to outside the tyre.

theoretically, you should be able to adjust the spokes with the tyre on, but they're never really supposed to need doing and will likely be seized anyway.

i'd be seeing if it was covered under warranty.

Wheel warranty

Get it done under warranty ,who knows maybe they'll give you a new front wheel as it's been running out of true and maybe it can't be trued :nenau:thumb

Same problem with mine, for no reason front went out of true. Looked into warranty claim but in the end got the devon rim company to sort it. The tolerances they work to are better than bmw's own

Tightening spokes is a service item. My fronts need a tweak now and then.

For folks in the Midlands - Kevin Blurton wheel builder in Derby 01332 369085 is one of the few in the country who will touch the BMW GS wire spoke wheels.
