When i visited Aston Martin back in the 80's

The gent who showed me round told me they selected vehicles at random that came back from road test, and

completely stripped & rebuilt the engine and gearbox to see how well they performed and if there was any undue wear

etc (these were customer cars, not specials etc). I remember thinking, i'd like one of the ones that had been stripped

and rebuilt, that way you'd have peace of mind that it was all OK

I don't recall seeing a resident clairvoyant last time i visited a garage , so in reality unless they strip the engine how are

they supposed to know what is wrong.

If you feel that unhappy, take the refund.

A lot has moved on from them though to the extent that a new motor would or should never need to be rebuilt after 1440mls

We could always start a thread on what people have heard about other people's experiences of KTM dealers.

I went to a KTM marketing focus group run by Kiska a few years back. The one thing I came away with, was just what existing KTM owners thought of KTM dealers. Not a lot...

I don't want that on a new bike
Would look too bad on a 2017 8 week old bike with engine number change on logbook
No one would want to buy it

It won't affect someone else wanting it. You'll get a brand new engine, clutch and gearbox on an 8 week old bike. You said you were worried about the gearbox seizing so take the new one.
It sounds like for whatever reason you have lost the relationship with the dealer so take the new engine and walk away. It will still be covered by warranty for 2 years.

I'd go and at least put a dress on and ride a new KTM, as I put it off for years, and now that I have one, am very impressed with it.

I did ask the dealer about that !

He said they've replaced a couple of fuel filters but no fuel pumps .... !

Sounds better than the op with 8 weeks in and a new engine needed. Still it's a good way to keep the corrosion at bay! Bet it was just a filter anyway.

I did ask the dealer about that !

Bit of diesel oil in the system will help keep the pump lubricated

Well it seems that Richard Heith @BMW Motorad UK has taken back the offer of a replacement bike for my broken 2017 GSA TE and won't let me have another

AFTER talking to him twice on the phone and him telling me that he doesn't think I'm worthy of BMW Motorad UK and to even own one i am lost as to what to do and for words

Unfortunately there are people out there reading this who can't wait to go and speak to Marshall BMW Grimsby and tell them what i have wrote as it seems

Well all i can say is it has been a total waste of my time and effort to support them as they just basically told them they don't want me to own a BMW and that they can pick and choose who they deal with
