Lost all faith

Don't lose faith guys, I've had BMWs for 10 years since they launched the F800gs, this is an unuasual result of a problem that should have been 'compromised' earlier, generally BMW are very reasonable with warranty repairs..
This guy Matt would be a better ambassador than 'anti bmw'
It NEEDS looking at again hopefully to a reasonable conclusion..
As I said earlier I'm scared.. but if my new bike turns out to be a problem bring it on..!

Sorry but that just does not sound believable at all

Something I don't do is lie

Trust me when i say this

I build custom Harleys, show bikes which I ride and show winners too and I know when something isn't right and to be told by my dealer that my bike isn't right due to it having running in oil in is a fucking piss take on my level of knowledge on an engine etc

This is not going to be left here and will be subject of a few things along the way to which I will take BMW Motorad UK on personally

Bit of diesel oil in the system will help keep the pump lubricated :thumb2

and on that subject:-

Dog house for me for putting Shell VMax petrol in wifes diesel Seat........

AA wanted to charge £250 to drain even though its the first call in over 30 yrs of being a Gold member!, she was quite upset (understatement of the year contender)
Had it recovered home and spent the evening draining the tank, not much went in before I realised and there wasnt much diesel in when I started.

It might actaully save me money, she always renewed wiht the AA for an annual fortune!

Give it 18months and I would still have been better off.

Lawn mower will be running on mix for the next month or two......

Got offered a new bike or refund, I chose a new bike
They then pulled that offer off the table and now it's fix or refund

Not on at all

Was it verbal or in writing (new bike offer). Who made the offer? What reason did they give for retracting offer?

Yay.. I did the same..

I agree. The cost to them wouldn't be excessive, the bike would be repaired & offered on approved network at a reasonable price.. maybe they need a new public relations guy/woman..

Not good feeling is it?, at least Im away from friday in Europe on the bike til June - she can't stare menacingly at me if I'm not there!

Anyway, to the OPs problem, seems that piss was boiling on both ends of the phone....
I understand what you think he meant but have you actually gone over what he said?
If he said word for word what you have reported then it is a poor show indeed but perhaps you are working on your interpretation of what you think he meant or said - no insult here, I have done the same, as have many here I'd warrant.
Perhaps a letter written and then maybe re-written explaining that whilst you have high standards you do believe that an amicable solution can be reached. A suggestion that a meeting face to face and a discussion in a calm and reasoned manner may allow him to see what is important to you and also for you to understand his position, I dunno - I always found I got better results when I didn't shout.

See if there is a way back from the brink, from the edge of the metaphorical abyss. Try to get dealer back on your side - the bigger your team, the better chance you have of winning the game.

Best of luck fella, hope you can resolve this

The sales manager at Marshall BMW called Richard, told him the story , Richard agreed to a new bike straight away
Simon came round told me the news and we shook on it
Now to me that's a done deal as a man's word is only as good as his say so

Thanks but his words are his words and he represents BMW Motorad UK and after today the suck big time as his word now stands for nothing

Ride safe and thanks

Its a verbal contract. However, proving what was actually said and agreed to will be your main issue here. Especially if nothing was in writing. Your word against theirs (unless you have a good independent witness) and it would be a battle not worth pursuing through the legal system in my opinion.

If it was in writing then its a different story.

Still think you should contact MCIA

SO SImon is your witness that the offer was made - is he still on-side?

No one is disputing that's what was said, BMW Motorad UK have withdrawn the offer

I guess it's their choice

MCIA will agree a repair or refund is perfectly acceptable

They don't have to offer a new bike

A new bike is a gesture of goodwill, not a definite

In law they only have to repair or refund

You have shot yourself in the foot by shooting your mouth off on here, at every end and turn about it

BMW have read it and retracted their goodwill

In business I would do the same

Customers like you aren't worth it

I would refund you in full and complete my statutory duty

End of

You have brought this on yourself - keeping schtum would have been better
