I went in 81 or 82 to the MotoGP event held at a place with a runway well outside of town.
We camped at the old race circuit near the town with nutters racing up and down the hill. Some came to a sticky end at the bottom.
The town was great, even back then.
I think it was the Trieste Opicina. I wonder if its still there.
I had a complete brain fart with places :blast
I was thinking of Rijeka where the GP's used to be held.
We did go via Trieste. Both places had nice waterfronts but preferred Rijeka.

Great write up and photos, so much so that Mrs M now wants to do Poland! Thanks for taking the time.

Met a Belgium local on a Ducati Multi Strada in a small village when we told him about our ride he said "respect" and insisted on taking us to Dinant for lunch as he knew a good twisty route.
