I had the week from hell last week.
To top it off it appears I’ve lost my Anker powerbank whilst away. 😩
Is Anker still the best ? Or are there any other recommendations?

Yes.

What size /capacity are you looking for? Something you put in your pocket? Something for a tank bag? Something with wheels?

Good question, the one I had was 20k Mah. A bit like a large mobile phone size, used it mainly when in hotel rooms and my iPad power was low but far away from a socket.
The thing that narks is I can remember using it in the ibis in St Omer. Then put it with all my other stuff on the desk. I can’t understand how I left it. 😢

I’ll probably go for perhaps a bit larger one so it holds more charge but small enough for the top pocket of my daypack.

FWIW I have a Creative Labs Bluetooth speaker that doubles as a 6000mAh power bank and it’s bloody superb, I use it when travelling, camping and on the patio at home. It supplies 5V 1A DC out, can play via BT, 3.5mm DIN jack, USB, or music on microSD card. I bloody love the thing.

Which Ibis in St Omer? GWWP, I will be there on Monday evening, I’ll try to drop by and see if they have it.

When was it?

Do you have a picture?

PS If they do and it’s any good…. I’ll keep it….. Thieving French, not to be trusted!

The one on the left is very pricey, but will drive a very fussy Dell laptop, which sulks at every opportunity.

I still like Anker and have a slimline one I take on all my bike travels. Cost around 70 quid. Well worth the money. When buying a powerbank the cheaper ones tend to have a lower power output., so one from Primark at 10 quid wont do what you need so beware. Its the mAh number you see in the above photos. The higher the better, i am pretty sure it means more charges before you have to reload the powerbank.

That is correct. It’s not the best unit to use, but as the voltage is “fixed”, it is a measure of the energy the bank can store.

And they use milliamp hours because “27600” sounds much more impressive than 27.6. Marketing bollocks.

Other makes are available. Ansmann are decent quality. https://shop.ansmann.de/en/powerbanks

I have a couple that are hand warmers and power banks combined.
Very useful if winter camping.
