I have a 2012 twincam triple black GSA.

So i pit a cyclops in around april but wasnt doing much night driving so I didnt realise until now that its was dazzling all around me. Even lowering it as much as i could it still spreads too much.

That led to me putting the h4 halogen back yesterday, unfortunately it seems that the the thing that holds the clip that keeps the bulb in has broken a little. Very thin aluminium obviously didnt stand up to fitting all the cyclops parts.

At the moment its holding the bulb but not secured 100%, id say 75%.

Should i leave it, buy a 2nd hand unit or try a full led unit upgrade?

Go for the full Chinese LED upgrade.
Mine cost the same as the pair of top quality LED bulbs that I had previously fitted, I often got flashed even in daylight and had drivers in font of me holding there hand up to the rear view mirror.
The LED bulbs passed the MOT but there seemed to be a lot of light scatter.
The dip beam cut off with the Chinese LED complete unit is razor sharp and I have never been flashed with it on dip even thou the total light output is better than the LED bulbs.

+1 on this.

I still think full beam needs a set of spot lights, I’ll be putting on some Denali D4 at some point.

Thanks, I have been looking, Matt Gecko or alibaba lads?

Id probably go for version 2 as it seems more plug and play.

I agree with the spots on main beam, I have not tried it without the help of the spots.
My spots are Hella FF50`s as I cannot find LED spots that have as good a beam length and shape as the Hella halogens, Although I read somewhere that PIAA are now doing small spots that are achieving a good beam pattern, lighting technology moves so fast.
My Chinese unit was via Aliexpress.

Does it have 3 mounting points?

Does the beam need adjusting or is it fixed in place? The matt gecko one can be mounted either way but with no adjustment or just move the whole unit by hand up or down.

If you have time to read this through to its conclusion it should answer all of your questions, It starts a bit off subject but slowly covers most of the info required.

Quite easy to do a repair on the bulb holder on the OE unit . Common failure. There are a few threads covering in here somewhere. Or fork out for the led upgrade from AliExpress.
