I only get around 35 mpg and i dont ride hard.................

Did 3,000 k in France in the summer with three other GSers mine was first to the fuel light every time and took 3-4 litres extra to fill up than the others............

The bike is fully serviced BMW have just done the CO2 and balanced the throttle bodies it has a K&N filter and has done 32,000 miles.............

Any ideas ?

Probably the O2 sensor faulty - check for a sooty exhaust after a mixed ride - if you can't see some grey in the pipe the chances are that the sensor has failed.

Hold up there....

If BMW just serviced the bike they should have picker up if the lambda sensor was faulty.

Just because the exhaust may be grey, or whatever is no indication as to the serviceability of the lambda sensor.

What other mods have been done to this bike, it has a K&N filter and that alone could be one causal factor in high fuel cons.

Thanx all for the in put, there is no cat in this bike so no sensor i take it ?.........

I have a Remus road can fitted along with the K&N.......

My two mates both run 1100 GSes with the same pipe and filter and they are both getting 45+ mpg .........

Is it worth removing the K&N ?........

Even if you don't have a cat, you need the O2 sensor. If it isn't there, you will have issues.

Generally, low MPG can be cured with a decent tune, oil change (engine, gear, etc). And don't forget to clean that K&N filter.
