Hi all,
I always run the oil level at the upper Max level, but recently after doing an oil change & on the post service run the low oil warning lamp came up....when i rechecked the level it had only dropped the the dead center spot??

Now the centre spot i would consider as the optimum level, if the level had dropped to the six O'clock Min position, then the lamp coming on i would consider being justified...

Now with only 0.5 ltr between Min & Max that means a drop of 0.25ltr has brought the lamp on.

Any experiences out there of (dare i say it) sensor issues??

I have had mine with no oil showing in the glass and no lights came on. .5L later and it was back up to the top so it wasn't low low. Would seem very odd for the light to come on when mid way between min and max.
Another point is, is the light actually a low oil level light or is it a low oil pressure light?

I would be more worried if the true level was out of the bottom of the sightglass and the warning lamp still hadn't illuminated.

My come on for the first time, oil at lower bottom glass...but never trust em.

You say "oil warning lamp" - where exactly on the instrument panel?

My oil level warning is a "tick" on the RT, & the symbol "Ok" on the GSA.

The "lamp" sounds like you are describing the oil level low pressure warning light, not oil level.

There is no oil quantity warning lamp on the bike , there is however a low oil pressure light on the bike , so this probably explains why there is oil in the bike and you are still getting the light

There most certainly is on mine an engine oil level indication on the MFD
It is an oil can that has a wavy line underneath it..page 26,28 & 29 in the manual
The Low oil pressure lamp has no wavy line underneath it...page 25

Many thanks for the responses, from these its clear it's time to book her in for another warranty repair.

Yes my light had the wavy line meaning level is low...And oil can without wavy line is pressure.
