Well, Looks like my bike arrives here at midday on Friday. The seat on it is a standard height seat, but the dealer has given me a low seat for free from an 800 GS. He tells me that it does not fit as the seat on an Adventure has a cutout for the ECU to fit flush.The seat on a lowered 800GS seat has no such cutout (so I'm told, but as i havent seen one I dont know if this is correct or not), so can it be modified to fit the Adventure or not?? I dont mind hacking a bit of plastic off a seat but wondered what the effect of doing this mod would be??? Would the ECU that (i have been told) lives under the seat have any ill effects from sitting in a modified seat. i'm thinking particularly about whether the ECU needs to be kept cool and away from every thing else, and if ridden in really bad rain(YES I DO ride in the rain ,) what might then happen to the ECU. I know its a rugged ish black plastic box but am just asking the question because its a BLOODY EXPENSIVE black box to replace. If you can keep the replies somewhat constructive that would also be good.This question was only asked after trying to do my best to solve it without resorting to asking on here which I have failed miserably at so doing, so there.......
