Does anyone know how much effort /cost it takes to modify a standard Adventure gearbox to a lower first gear one? Should the whole gearbox be replaced?

Cheers

I thought that the Adventure gearbox already came with a lower 1st gear than the regular 1150GS: confused:

Do you mean fitting the Adventure 1st gear to a regular 1150 box? Not worth it unless you're working on the box anyway or replacing the clutch at least IMO. If paying someone to do the work as well, it could work out very expensive. The lower 1st is only a real benefit if spending a lot of time off road?

The lower 1st gear on the adventure is an option as well. Lower 6th gear is standard. Bought the bike 2nd hand and it didn't have the lower 1st gear. So what I want is the lower 1st gear in my standard Adventure gearbox.

I thought that all GSA's came with the lower 1st - apologies.
