Ok, some will know I've been having issues with my sargent seat. Turns out it's not the seat, it's me :blast
Anyway, I had a revelation earlier. I think my bars are too high. My 1150R had slightly lower bars, meaning my weight was distributed mainly to the seat, but some was taken by my wrists. This was perfect.
The GS is more "sit up and beg" style, meaning all my weight's on the seat.

I know all about bar risers, but is there a way to lower my bars a bit?
I'm not sure how much lower, I'll have a proper look tomorrow. I'm thinking I can try loosening the clamps and try turning the bars a bit, therefore making them lower? I assume it's ok to do this? Obviously I might need to adjust the levers and switches, but is there anything else I should worry about?

Unless there's an easier solution of course.

Cheers, Jonny

You can tilt the bars towards you.

The bars can swing right down, beyond the edge of the tank. Simply losen the four clamp bolts.

If you want to return the bars to standatd, there is a punchmark that lines up with the two internal faces of the clamp. Have a look before you losen the bars.

Do not forget to retighten the four clamp bolts No doubt they should be torqued.

Probably Renthal or someone similar makes some alternative bars but they will not be be cheap.

Cheers. I'll have a play at some point, need to find some torx sockets first  . I had another look today and I see there'd be no way of lowering the standard bars, and getting new bars seems too much hassle!

Oh guess what, I made my seat about 10 times more comfy today too... Just set it to the low setting :blast I never bothered with it before as it made my legs a bit cramped, but I can live with that now. No more saddle sore, but I'm getting a bit of "numb bum" now so I'll give the airhawk a go tomorrow.

It's amazing how tiny adjustments can make all the difference isn't it.

Anyway, let's hope this'll be the last thread ever created about my backside :D
