Two questions:-

1) Does the large Adventure tank fit the standard 1150GS?

2) Does anyone have the lower seat option on their Adventure and if so, how tall are you and if you don't mind revealing your inside leg measurement (I need to compare sizes against me)?
Ok, let the p**s taking begin.... and yes I know that's 4 questions, give me a break.

Thanks

Steve...

Even though I'm a tall bugger (6'2"), I have an inside leg of about 31" (piss take all you want folks). Riding solo, I found the Adv a bit tall so I bought the low seat. Certainly helped a lot in planting both feet and was fine on short trips. For all day riding however, the lack of padding tended to result in a somewhat numb bum (although not THAT bad).
Riding two up, the bike sits a little lower and so I'm using the normal seat. If I'm solo, I just slide fully forward on the seat when I'm coming to a stop and that helps with balance.
If you can find someone to lend you a low seat, try it for a whole day's ride and see how you get on. I'll probably end up selling the low one I have.

Steve,

The Adv tank does fit the standard GS (see below) & it gives you much greater flexibility with the seats. You have the choice of front/rear split and different height options. My inside leg is 31" & with the alloys, I can get both feet flat on the ground. One or the other was possible when I had the spoked wheels fitted.

HTH,

I have.

I'm 5ft 8in. No idea of my inside leg measurement, but I wear 30in Levis if that helps.

I've also got Ohlins on my Adv, which raises the bike a fair bit, meaning I'm tip-toes on both sides, but you get used to it.
