I have just bought a 03 1150gs

it has a set of lowered pegs and I think a whole gearstick although not too sure on that one

could someone identify both items plus are they a good addition to the bike, especially the gearstick ?

thanks

Footpeg lowering in the 1150 is a great mod. At least i think so. Without them i always felt a bit cramped by the oem position. There's plenty of ground clearance on the GS so highly unlikely you'll be touching down even wroth these.

I'm pretty sure the footpeg lowering kit is a Verholen product (I have them on my Adv). Ditch the metal gear-lever cover - it serves no useful purpose and will fuck up the uppers of your left boot. You'll likely find the original BMW rubber underneath it when you pull it off...

thanks for the replies

I'm not that fussed on the gearlever as its massive, I wasnt too sure if the end was new or the whole thing

do you think a good tug will remove the end, there are no obvious fixings and it just spins round

Yes, I'd think it would pull off. You might have to give it some persuasion (by squirting some lubricant between it and the lever), if it has been on there a while. I'm pretty sure it's an interference fit on the original BMW rubber that keeps it in place...

I have an identical foot peg lowering kit on my bike.

The kit was purchased from Wunderlich many years ago.

The kit consists of both the foot peg brackets and an extension insert for the gear lever operating rod and a shorter actuator arm for the rear brake master cylinder. The latter two adapters allow the gear lever arm and the foot brake lever to be lowered to align with the lower foot pegs.

cheers I wondered how the brake and gear lever looked normally adjusted

I fitted that set-up to mine and it helped with comfort a lot.

I am not sure why you would ditch the gear lever extender, I found it a great help, as the standard lever is small enough.
