I guess that it requires a shorter rear shock to lower one, I assume a R100r one, but is there any others achieve the same thing,
Do mono lever shocks fit, or just para lever ones?

Anyone got a suitable shock available for sale,

i did have an ohlins till a couple of weeks ago that was 450mm c/c but sold it after being on the shelve for a year or so . the gs is 495 and the r100r is in the middle at 475, if your shock is ok maybe you could have it shortened by someone, I'm guessing its possible ? just an idea :thumby:

There is only around 30 mm difference between a GS and a R100R shock, but the G/S is a further 120 mm shorter than the R100R.

I have a good low mileage R shock no 2 312 459 - Showa B08 , and also a good OEM GS shock, and a just serviced WP for a G/S, both of which were replaced by an Ohlins. The WP has a spare HD spring for a RTW sized load of luggage.

Unfortunately Oz post charges are rapacious and the shock and packaging will weigh about 10 kg, but if you run out of options PM me and I will try and get a quote - the PO s are privatized so it takes a few tries to find one which will charge the correct amount, most want twice the price!

Racial vilification laws prevent me revealing the nationality of those who seem to have a strangle hold on the POs, and the service stations, and the Taxis ------.

No prizes for guessing, and they won't be native Australians!

We have a similar problem..................linked to our empire...............but some of them want to blow us up!

Depending on how much you want to lower the bike have you considered reshaping the seat and fitting an adjustable torque arm?

I am not sure what the shock is made off, steel would be easy, alloy I have no means to weld, nor do I know anyone close by, possible none the less, thanks

The monolever RT one looks to be 420mm ish long and is steel, so that might be convertible, I will bear that in mind though, thanks!

yes I could do that, but using a shorter shock would have the benefit of giving the driveshaft an easier time, I think 40mm lower will be ideal!

In that case you might find it worthwhile to have a talk to these,

http://www.shock-factory.co.uk/index.html

They will make what you want at a sensible price!

That does look a sensible price, may have to consider them if I can't get a used R100R one, or used decent one to fit, I have not heard of them, anyone vouch for their quality?

at the moment though I need a cheaper solution!
