Glad you're ok. Feck the bike.
Did the tourists admit liability?
Did you make any contact with their car?

In that case on a blind bend you should not drive faster than 20 MPH or less. Even better have a man with a Red flag in front of you. Can't argue with however.

Jaysus lad, that's a bummer !
But as you say it coulda been a lot worse.
Get well soon![]()
Sorry to hear about your misfortune, but glad you are reasonably ok.
As for the bike, it is just a "thing", and can be repaired or replaced.
Guards said that even though them parking in the middle of the road caused the accident I should have been able to stop. I didn't hit their car I went straight into an oncoming car as the bike skidded out of control.
Poor observation, you can have all the bike electronics in the world and it will not change your ability to look where you are going or to drive within the speed that you can safely stop. ABS simply masks the problem of poor riding. Just saying like....
however, I am pleased your relatively Ok aside from a few battle scars!
Checked the photos. There was a continuous Yellow line where they were parked.
Would it be worth pushing the guards to charge them with dangerous driving (well, parking), thereby strenghtening your case.
Its all fine ppl saying you should have been able to stop but thats why this is an "accident". They do happen and there is sweet FA you can do if something comes into your path in an instant.
As above.
